Gulf Breeze Rattery was established in February of 2005, though we have been mainly a "pet only" facility. With the decision to begin breeding, a renovation of sorts was in order. New cages have arrived or have been built, quarantine facilities have been improved, and we've switched our rats to a diet based solely on whole foods.
The Rattery is located on Serenity Quarter Horse Farms in Gulfport, MS. No worries, folks - the rats evacuate with us in case of a hurricane.
First and foremost we are concerned with Health and Temperament, then Type and Color. Our belief is that it matters not a bit how pretty or typey or up to show standards a rat is, if they're not of superior health, it's all moot. Gulf Breeze Rattery will be focusing mainly on American Blue and Russian Blue rats, as well as their dilutes.

There's this book called The Mouse Knight that has recently been published and is available for purchase. It was originally posted on the RMCA website as a cute story and it grew into something pretty neat. It isn't intended for children, but it's an engaging, fun story that teens and adults can enjoy.
